I have been programming for 30 years now, it's something that I love. I've written applications for some very large corporations, maybe you've heard of a few. Home Depot, Lowes, Wells Fargo, Wachovia Bank, Chase Manhatten Bank. I started building websites even before AlGore invented the internet.. Back then I was using perl, HTML, and some CSS. I continued for a few years but the whole website thing wasn't working for me.

Building a website in those days was tedious work. Between dialup connections, and languages that just didn't measure up to my ideal, it was a real pain and development slow. So I just stopped and stuck with desktop programming. Then around the very end of 2007 I decided it was time to give the web another shot. So here I am, a decade or more later.. JacksWebb Is Born!

I'm a big believer in functionality and clean simple design. How many websites do you visit that are acutually good for something usefull? Ebay would be a classic example of a useful (functional) site. You can buy and sell stuff there, that's usefull. Then there are the "bling bling" sites that dazzle you with fancy eye catching graphics that sometimes hurt to look at and are slow to load. They bombard you with links and apps that they think are "cool" and menus that make no sense at all. Not very usefull, and definately not for me..
